On Saturday, January 31st, we welcome writer, scholar of religion and Nazareth College professor, Dr. Corinne Dempsey, to Bleak House Books. Corinne will be joined by Dr. Deborah King, professor emerita of psychiatry for the University of Rochester Medical Center.
They will discuss Corinne’s new book, A View From Life’s Edge: Discovering What Really Matters With Older Women across the Globe, published by Rutgers University Press. Audience Q & A and book signing to follow.

SPEAKER BIOS:
CORINNE G. DEMPSEY is professor and chair of Religious Studies at Nazareth University in Rochester, NY. Her earlier books are on Christianity in South India, Hinduism in the US, and spirit traditions in northern Iceland. If asked, she would tell you that her most rewarding project so far has been this one, in the company of older women across the globe.

DEBORAH KING is a clinical psychologist and Professor Emerita in Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Her clinical and scholarly interests include geropsychology, bereavement, and end-of-life challenges. Since retiring from the medical center, she has deepened her engagement with Dharma Refuge, a local Buddhist community, and currently enjoys teaching meditation there.
